Sainsbury's On Medway City Estate

As you are all located on the Medway City Estate, it is likely that you have read the letter sent through from Sainsbury's Regional Development Executive Harriet Houlihan stating that they have now submitted a planning application to Medway Council for the development of Plot 1, Medway City Estate.

The plans detail the development of a new Sainsburys store, a park and ride facility and major improvements to the local road network. The letter from Harriet sets out how they plan to tackle the issues with the road infrastructure, detailing the addition of traffic lights on and off of the estate which they suggest will improve the traffic flow at peak times, reducing the average waiting time of 7.5 minutes to 30 seconds.

It would be interesting to hear from others what they think of the plans, and whether you are in support of Sainsburys coming onto the estate. There are many pro's to them coming to the estate including the jobs they will generate, as well as the potential for passing trade to businesses already on the estate, but what do others feel about potential downsides to the development?
