Medway Tunnel overnight closures

Medway Council have asked that the following information is posted.

Medway Tunnel will be closed during the night over a period of three weeks, starting on Monday, 6 June. The tunnel is currently undergoing a complete replacement of its environmental control system together with the installation of new equipment that will improve the operation and safety of the tunnel.  This will include new CCTV, incident detection and radio communications systems.

The closures will take place at the following dates and times:

Monday, 6 to Friday, 10 June

Closed from 8pm each evening to 5.45am the next morning

Monday, 13 to Friday, 17 June

Closed from 8pm each evening to 5.45am the next morning

Monday, 20 to Friday 24 June

Closed from 8pm each evening to 5.45am the next morning

(The tunnel will not close on Saturday or Sunday nights).

It is not anticipated that there will be any significant disruptions to the road network and diversion signs will be in place.
