Medway Tunnel Closures

Medway Council have asked us to make people aware of Medway Tunnel closures. The information is as follows:

Medway Tunnel overnight closures

Medway Tunnel will be closed during the night over a period of 5 nights (Monday to Friday) starting on Monday, 26^th September.

The tunnel is currently undergoing a complete replacement of its environmental control system together with the installation of new equipment that will improve the operation and safety of the tunnel.  This will include new CCTV, incident detection and radio communications systems.

The closures will take place at the following dates and times:

Monday, 26th to Friday, 30th September

Closed from 8pm each evening to 5.45am the next morning

Initial closure is on Monday 26^th September at 8pm

Final opening is on Saturday 1^st October at 05.45

It is not anticipated that there will be any significant disruptions to the road network and diversion signs will be in place.
