Social network for businesses.
This forum is here to take on the issues of security which have been raised on other discussions (Travellers, Boy Racers).
As many of you may know, AJP have approached several companies with regard to the provisoon of security for the whole estate.
Last Friday, they spent the evening on the estate to see what happens after we have all gone home. It is an interesting read....
Jason (of AJP) says:
I would like to give you an update on how thingsare going with setting up our proposal.
On the night of the 7th January we conducted a free patrol to assess the issueson the MCE and have written a short report for your consideration.
We will also be on the estate today to explain our proposal to companies thatwe have yet to speak to.
In response to lani's question, we are currently in the process of registeringwith companies house as this is a new company being born to tackle such issues as found on MCE, we can provide references and prove that we are financially sound. weappreciate these kinds of question as we wish to be totally transparent withour customers.
The full report is attached, and I encourage you all to read it.

I received another update from Jason today. This was his message.
Just a quick note to inform the mce community that we have been asked by the council to attend a meeting with them and the police about our plans for the security of the mce.
I would also like to tell you that we have a re-evaluated the problem with the boy racers and have devised a way in which we can reduce the issue of them using the mce, this will involve the use of PSB,s or portable speed bumps that will be placed in any area that the boy racers use. these will be put down at around seven pm and brought back in around five am so as not to interfere with the daily traffic on the mce.
I would also like to ask if you could let your members know that we are slowly making our way around the estate to see them, however if they could let their neighbours know of our plans and get them to contact us direct we would appreciate this as ive warn out two pairs of shoes already lol.
I have also invited Jason to join the forum directly so he can keep everyone updated himself in future

Permalink Reply by kieran hills on February 17, 2011 at 15:09 firstly, hi from all at silverback performance.
as a company we frequently come to deal with some of those that use the estate as a race track and continuosly try to put people off from coming into the estate of an evening. I think the speed bumps are a great idea and will certainly reduce the roads miss-use. I would assume there are somehow "policed" i ask as i would think it wouldnt take long for some of the more prolific offenders to take it upon themselves to move the humps if it is posibble?
anything that can be done to eridacate the problem though is a positive step forward.
regards kieran
Sadly, little of what's in the report surprises me in the least. (thanks for posting it).
The key element that was missing for me, is how much it would potentially cost MCE residents for whatever solution actually works. The other key part would be to ensure that a very clear set of economically linked deliverables were set out in any contract, to ensure that the residents actually get what we "might" be paying for.
Performance related pay for security - now there's a novelty!
PS - if these PSB's are portable, surely it wouldn't be too tricky for these boy racers to just move them / potentially damage them if they're "in their way", so that they can crack on with their mischief regardless?
Permalink Reply by Alex Waterton MCT on April 21, 2011 at 10:21 With the warmer weather approaching I feel that the first thing we could all do is note vehicle registrations and if possible take photographs or videos of the offending vehicles and people.
This has proved viable in the past and I feel that if acted on in the early stages and notified to the police on reliable and regular basis then action would be taken against the culprits and word will soon spread also - to go somewhere else.
We could have a vehicle name and shame page on here, who knows the registrations could well be noticed and identified by people who work on site - and may even be able to notify the children's mums and dads....
here's to a quiet summer... I wish.
I agree Alex.
I'd also recommend anyone that notes these down - emailing them to our local Cop Shop:
PC Suzanne Fill
suzanne.fill@kent.pnn.police.uk
and also copying in:
strood.rural@kent.pnn.police.uk
at the same time...

sorry for not replying sooner to these questions but i am now back to work after my accident.
1, if ajpk9 were to provide security to the estate we would provide easily definable KPI so that companies could track our performance.
2, Once the PSB's are laid they are locked in to position using bolts, locks and steel cable, it would be no easy feat to move them.
please read my earlier post in regards to a meeting with the local police and council.
so far i have had only one person take an interest in attending this meeting, however i will not arrange it until there is some support from the companies on the MCE, so please put the word around.
many thanks
Jason
