The Medway City Estate

Social network for businesses.

I just thought I would start off a discussion following the meeting today.

I feel the group has got off to a good start and must congratulate Kevin Doherty on getting this iniative moving. Despite what it may seem, Kevin and I had never met before today, and this the creation of this web site is a pure concidence. It just shows that there is more than one of us who wishes the Business 2 Business potential of this estate was easier to manage.

As I write this we already have some new members, and it would be good to get as many people as possible added so we can make full use of the web site and the contacts we make on it..

If anyone has anything to add or wishes to raise other issues, then this is a good place to start.

Hi Stewart.. yes this is great. I just checked my other ning newtorks. I think we need to create groups for the members, so we would be in a group called printers and graphic designers, and you would be under Computer Services... that way all companies can join their relative groups, so we can be self sorting and managing. The group function seems to be disabled though? I think this is the only way to catalogue services or interest groups for the network. yes?
Good idea Marc. I will get straight onto it.
I have about 80 email addresses for people on the estate, well with ME2 4.. postcodes, if you are happy, i can email them invites to the network??
Why not indeed? Just make them aware of what we are doing, since most were probably not at the meeting, and may not have seen the mailer either
I see you have allowed groups, great. You just needed to edit the main page so the groups appear on the left had side (i would suggest) therefore as soon as memebers log in they can scroll down the groups list and either add themselves to a "relevant" group or email the group in question as a group or select individuals from the group... all good stuff. :)
I attended the meeting today and would like to thank the Chamber of Commerce for their hospitality. I would like to add one item for discussion - the bus service. Some of our customers arrive by boat on the south bank of the Medway and cannot walk through the tunnel. They can come by taxi, but at a cost and inconvenience. Do others have the same problem?
