Alternative ways off the estate

In discussion with people within our organisation we would be interested in a series of river taxis connecting the estate with Rochester and chatham.

Has anyone else had a similar idea or good places in which to lauch from and to ?

As a slight divergence from the main topic of this thread, could something not be done to encourage the use of cycles? I live in Rainham and have cycled to work in the past when the weather is right, but being unable to use the Tunnel legally, the thought of tackling Chatham Hill after 8 hours is somewhat daunting. I know a lot more people who live that side would use their bike, particularly from Lower Gillingham if they were allowed to use the Tunnel.
Also I have written to Medway Council to suggest the priority is changed at the junction of Whitewall Road/Commissioners Road to improve traffic flow and reduce emissions.

Hi Chris,

I have just found this information on a blog discussing the potential for cycling through the Medway Tunnel. There is a response from Medway Council on here as well,
